We are excited to welcome Mrs. Butler to Galion as our new 9th grade English teacher! A passionate reader and creative spirit, Mrs. Butler brings a deep love for literature into her classroom. Each summer, she enjoys exploring new teen fiction at the bookstore and carefully selects at least three titles to share with her students through the classroom library. Her creativity shines in many ways—whether she's writing, painting, gardening, crafting, or designing, she brings energy and imagination to everything she does. This year, students can look forward to enjoying a library-themed book nook she's building for the classroom!
Originally from Florida, Mrs. Butler and her family moved to Ohio in the summer of 2023 and have fallen in love with the beauty of all four seasons. Before coming to Galion, she spent nine years teaching 9th grade English in Florida. Beyond the classroom, she also has a unique background as a henna artist and face painter at Busch Gardens in Tampa, where she worked during college and school breaks. Mrs. Butler is excited to begin this new chapter in Galion and looks forward to inspiring her students through books, creativity, and connection.

Staff Spotlight: Welcoming Our New Social Work Specialist
Galion City Schools is thrilled to introduce a new face to our support team — our very first Social Work Specialist! Welcome to the Tiger Family Ashley!! This newly created role was designed to provide dedicated mental health and social-emotional support to our students and families. We’re proud to welcome a passionate and driven professional who brings not only academic expertise but also a heart for connection and student well-being.
A graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University, she holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's in Biology — a powerful combination that allows her to approach student care from both a psychological and scientific perspective. Her background equips her to help students navigate emotional and academic challenges with empathy, clarity, and purpose.
Outside of work, she brings vibrant energy to everything she does. A proud “plant mom” with a love for nature, mountains, and anything adventurous. When she’s not working out or blasting music, you’ll likely find her lost in the pages of old Farmer’s Almanacs. Her bucket list? Wandering through the misty highlands of Scotland. We are beyond excited to have her join the Galion family — her courage to climb is already inspiring us all.

We are excited to welcome our new Athletic Director, who is entering this role with great enthusiasm and a strong commitment to our student-athletes and community. When asked what excites him most about stepping into this position, he shared that he’s eager to help lead an athletic program that plays such an important role in the lives of students, families, and the entire Galion community. He’s looking forward to supporting athletes both on and off the field and working with coaches to continue building a culture of sportsmanship, and school pride.

This will be his fourth year at Galion, and in that time, he has enjoyed becoming part of the community and witnessing first hand the positive impact athletics have on students’ lives.
