As a district, we will continue to prioritize safety, explore the best methods, and ensure that current safety measures are accurately functioning. Friday afternoon (9/1) at approximately 1:30 p.m., Galion City School District will conduct a districtwide lockdown drill to assess the recently installed Centegix CrisisAlert system, which notifies district administrators and first responders in an emergency. This drill will be the first district wide test of the system for the 2023-2024 school year. The Galion Police Department will participate in the exercise to ensure the communication is received and dispatched properly.
Practicing the procedures and systems we have in place ensures that they work as they should. We will continue to communicate with families regarding safety practices and updates to our procedures.

iPads will be deployed during Freshmen Orientation to 9th graders who have Final Forms signed. Returning students must bring their iPad bag with them to get their iPad.
Student in grades 10-12 will receive iPads on Thursday and Friday during school. Again, Final Forms must be signed and students must have their iPad bag. New students will be given a bag. Replacement bags may be purchased for $20.

While students are enjoying their summer, GHS math teachers are working hard to prepare for the next school year. They attended the week-long Teacher Manufacturing Boot Camp of Crawford County. On Wednesday, June 21st, Mrs. Degray and Mr. Rinehart presented their proposal for welcoming Crawford County businesses into the classroom and incorporating various employability skills in their lesson plans. Juniors and Seniors will participate in F5W. "First Friday Focus on your Future Family at Work." The work these teachers did is exceptional.
