Tuesday Tech Tips from the Galion Technology Department continue this week with four easy tips to help you create a strong password. Tip #1: Longer is Stronger: Create a string of 16 characters or more. Tip #2 Make them Random: Use 4-7 random words. This is commonly called a passphrase. Sometimes silly is easy to remember. Tip #3. Make them Unique: Too often people use the same couple passwords for everything. This is not safe practice. Tip #4: Use a password manager: We all have so many passwords to manage. Using a password manager will help you employ all three safety tips mentioned without having to remember all of them.

Join us on Wednesday, September 11th, at 5:00 at the Galion YMCA for the Superintendent's Series: Talk About Galion Schools. This month we welcome Melisa Watters, Chief Academic Officer, who will be there to answer questions and listen to your ideas or concerns. This series will continue every second Wednesday of each month. Hope to see you there!

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Did you know that regular school attendance will help improve reading scores by 3rd grade, helps middle school students achieve greater academic success, and increases the likelihood of graduating from high school? Galion City Schools is dedicated to working with families to reduce absenteeism rates for the 2024-25 school year. Look for more information about attendance and absenteeism to come throughout the month of September and the remainder of the year.

Families were able to meet teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, pick up schedules, try out lockers, and sign up for several school activities. Don't forget tomorrow is a 2-hr delay! Get some sleep and we will see you here in the morning. It's a great day to be a TIGER!

Galion High School is pleased to announce two new principals for the new school year. Mr. Don Vogt joined us from Ridgedale, where he was the junior high/high school principal. He brings extensive experience in teaching, coaching, and administration. Mr. Vogt looks forward to meeting each teacher, staff, and student and is eager for the school year to get started.
