This year we are implementing HOUSES! A friendly competition in which students "battle" to be the top house. Classrooms can earn Tiger Paws for positive, whole-class behavior from any adult in our building; the most earned combined in their house, will get a surprise monthly!
On FRIDAYS, students can wear any school-appropriate shirt within their HOUSE color! Each homeroom has a designated House they belong to, so please make sure they are wearing that color on Fridays or their campus wear.
And special shout out to our GHS Cheerleaders and Roary for stopping by for our assembly today!

As a district, we will continue to prioritize safety, explore the best methods, and ensure that current safety measures are accurately functioning. Friday afternoon (9/1) at approximately 1:30 p.m., Galion City School District will conduct a districtwide lockdown drill to assess the recently installed Centegix CrisisAlert system, which notifies district administrators and first responders in an emergency. This drill will be the first district wide test of the system for the 2023-2024 school year. The Galion Police Department will participate in the exercise to ensure the communication is received and dispatched properly.
Practicing the procedures and systems we have in place ensures that they work as they should. We will continue to communicate with families regarding safety practices and updates to our procedures.

We understand our families may have missed our request for "headphones" at the top of our supply lists. It wasn't stated in each grade-level lists - and we apologize!
We do need students to have WIRED (plugged-in) headphones. They can be in-the-ear (earbuds) or over-the-ear 🎧
If you are able, please try your best to pick a pair up for your student as soon as possible!

Students in Ms. Prince & Ms. Showecker’s 5th grade class created a mystery collaborative poster this week.
Once each student colored their piece of the poster it was assembled to create a “We Can Do It!” mural. Then students thought about goal setting and what they want to achieve in the first quarter of a new school year. They placed their goals on post-it notes and placed them on our goal setting mural.
We can’t wait to see these goals accomplished 🙌
