Calling all substitute teachers!
As of July 1, 2024, Galion City Schools will be managing our substitute teacher pool internally. We are inviting all qualified substitute teachers to work directly with us for the 2024-2025 school year.
We would be thrilled to have you work with our students as part of the Galion team.
What you need to know about becoming a substitute teacher at Galion:
· All substitute teachers must have a current BCI and FBI background check on file in our office. We will accept paper copies of your current background check. If you are unable to obtain a copy of your current background checks, you will need to have new background checks completed.
· All substitute teachers must provide a valid substitute teaching license from ODE
Once these items have been received in our office, you may pick up a payroll packet and then be added into our Frontline system to accept open positions, beginning with the 2024-2025 school year.
If you have any questions, please contact Danya Wilson at (419) 468-3432 ext. 11006 or Regina Jutz at (419) 468-3432 ext. 11000. You may also stop into our Central Office, Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

And that's a wrap on the 23-24 school year 🙌 If you need anything over the well-deserved summer break, our offices will continue to be open 7:30-3:30 Monday-Thursday until 6/13/24.
We will be back in offices on 8/1/24 - see you back soon!

On Field Day, we also got to see Mrs. Heimann keep her promise. If students read 30,000 pages during Right to Read Week, she would kiss a frog. WELL, students actually read 36,180 pages!! Thank you to Cooper for bringing in this bullfrog (who didn't turn into a prince) for the big moment 🐸
We also presented Victoria as well as AJ 🐶 from the Crawford County Humane Society with a check for $508.07 from our fundraiser. They were so appreciative and it was such an honor to be one of AJ's last stop before he retires!

Fun day, Field day! ☀️ We kicked off our summer with an incredible day of play, laughter, and memories.
5th-graders were also treated to a special send-off with their own colorful tunnel; held between the Primary and Intermediate as they are officially leaving our side of campus! 🌈

Attention GIS Families,
We apologize for the delay in receiving the yearbooks for the 23-24 school year. We are working with Lifetouch to get them in as soon as possible. Once they are received, we will contact the families who purchased a yearbook. We will also have some available for purchase if you missed out. Once again, I apologize for any inconvenience.
Mrs. Price, Yearbook Advisor

We had our first annual Talent Showcase at GIS during lunches recently! We were treated to dancing, instruments, ventriloquism, stand-up comedy, cheers, and even owl sounds 👏🏻 who knew we had SO many awesome talents! Can't wait to do this next year too!

Our cross-categorical class visited Alpaca Meadows and got to hang out with the some cool animals for the day 🦙

We are hiring for next school year! Check the Employment page on our website for all postings and information.
Send letters of interest, resume and applications to human.resources@galionschools.org

Our 4th-graders had their end-of-year field trip yesterday at COSI 🤩
Check out ALL the fun they had - and THANK YOU to all the chaperones who helped make it happen (chaperones: feel free to add pictures if you took any in the comments!)

5th-Grade Families: During our Field Day, we would like to celebrate the promotion of our 5th-graders to their next journey at the middle school. We have a special surprise for them - so please have our 5th-graders dress in older (and/or white) clothes as they may get a bit colorful at Thursday's Field Day 🥳

Tomorrow is the last chance to buy a refreshing cup of lemonade at recess. We will be also selling cups of ice. It's warming up, let us cool you down! 🍋

4th-grade spent the morning hanging (and climbing, sliding, etc) out at Heise Park this morning 🛝

Help us say CONGRATULATIONS to Rayanna and Aiden for being awarded SST7's Outstanding Student Achievement award 🎖️
This is a teacher-nominated award for students who have shown exceptional growth throughout the year.
We are so proud of you two!! 👏🏻

Our 3rd-graders headed to Buckeye Imagination Museum today as their year-end field trip! What a great way to play hard after working hard all year 🥳
