The SPY is a student publication, managed and produced by students at GHS. Students take approximately 40,000 digital photos each year, write captions, stories, design pages, and edit all of their pages multiple times. Advisors also edit every page numerous times. By the time the book is complete each page has been read and edited over a dozen times. Some of the considerations in producing the yearbook are the quality of writing, photography, inclusion of students from all backgrounds and experiences as well as leading athletes, and prominent student leaders. We want this to be a yearbook for everyone and we want everyone included in a picture somewhere.
The 2016-2017 SPY Staff is comprised of 10 students in all four grades. To apply for Yearbook class and become an official SPY staff member, the students are required to fill out an application. Applications are open to all students and selection is based upon reasonable academic success and a demonstration of work ethic. In addition, students are required to provide letters of recommendation. Yearbook class applications can be obtained at the Guidance Office and the deadline for submission is May 1st, 2017.
